As we navigate childcare during the pandemic, we have all had to learn to adapt and be resilient. Parents, care providers, centers, and agencies all have had to pivot to meet the new demands of childcare. At Beach Baby Nannies, we have been asked to go beyond simply finding a nanny for families. We have been tasked with finding teachers, caregivers, and families to join pods. We have learned to be more creative in our recruiting strategies, primarily when tasked with finding families to join already developed pods. We have also learned that it takes a bit more work to set up a successful nanny share or pod. To help speed along the process when trying to get these unique childcare settings started, we have identified three key components that make a successful pod placement.
Develop a Parent Contract - These contracts are meant to be used between all the families in the pod/share and provide documentation of the expectations of the group. This contract is where you can also put your expectations for the host families and any additional financial responsibilities beyond the payment of the provider
Sign Independent Caregiver Contracts - Every family should have an individual caregiver contract with the nanny or teacher as each family will be an independent employer.
Register with the Same Payroll Company - It is hard enough to keep track of pay stubs when it is just one family employing a nanny. When all families register with the same payroll company, not only can it be more cost-effective for them, but it is also easier on the caregiver to keep track of their pay.
